OUR

IMPACT

WorthyBooks works with various non-profit organizations to meticulously place books into the right hands to learn from them. Our diverse library of books have allowed us to partner with a wide range of people. From professional development for students to fitness guides for community health centers to the fight to end food poverty, we take pride in building bridges and driving impact with the written word.

Chasing Failure helps you remove every excuse for not pursuing the life you want to live.

WorthyBooks partnered with Ryan Leak and his national bestselling book, Chasing Failure: How Falling Short Sets You Up for Success, to donate books to under-resourced communities and local organizations across the country.

The common denominator successful people have is that they all failed at some point in their journey. Chasing Failure outlines lessons we can learn when we choose to embrace our failures, knowing the right questions to ask when you don’t know what to do next, and how to count the cost of a really great idea. The book is a toolkit and blueprint to help someone move from where they are to where they want to be.

As a speaker and executive coach, Ryan speaks to over 50,000 people each month. Through his work he realized there are so many people living in low-income areas who have dreams and great ideas without the access to the tools they need to actually succeed. That is why WorthyBooks partnered with Ryan to help underprivileged communities and organizations get copies of a book they’d normally never have access to or be able to afford. WorthyBooks partnered with Ryan to give copies of Chasing Failure to high schools, youth sports teams, small businesses owners, and dreamers in some of the most under-resourced cities in America—helping to turn failures and dreams into realities, and transforming local communities nationwide.

Gorick Ng provides first-generation college students with the tools and resources to succeed and thrive in the workforce.

WorthyBooks partnered with Gorick Ng, author of the Wall Street Journal bestselling book The Unspoken Rules: Secrets to Starting Your Career Off Right, to give books to disadvantaged students entering the workforce.

A first generation college graduate, Gorick learned to write a resume when he was fourteen-years-old after his mother was laid off. He realized at an early age that the rules to getting ahead are not taught in school, but are passed down through word-of-mouth. Gorick wrote The Unspoken Rules as a guide to provide access to essential tips and information about the workplace that is typically inaccessible to most. Loaded with frameworks, checklists, and talking points, the book provides detailed and straightforward strategies for professional success.

As a career advisor at Harvard college, specializing in coaching first-generation, low-income students, Gorick is dedicated to leveling the professional playing field. WorthyBooks worked with Gorick and nonprofit organizations around the country to send copies of
The Unspoken Rules to first-generation, low-income students as a graduation gift. By connecting Gorick with leading non-profit organizations specializing in equity in education—such as QuestBridge, Minds Matter, and Chicago Scholars—we were able to get The Unspoken Rules into the hands of those who’ll benefit from its teaching the most. Through our partnership, WorthyBooks helped students from underprivileged backgrounds achieve their full potential by giving them the resources and opportunity to start their careers off right.
